Not me...I don't even have cable! So, I'll just watch a couple of dvd's today between browsing the internet and cleaning. Plus, I get a kick out of heckling my uncle that the team he is rooting for to win will ultimately lose. I guess it comes with the territory after living in Chicago for the past 7 or 8 years, that you never root for the Packers! Plus, I had a very good friend in high school that was a die hard Steelers fan, so she would probably kill me if I didn't root for them.
So I decided to just take a few pictures and take you on a little tour of my house. Pardon the quality of my photos as I don't have a fancy schmancy camera that takes rock star quality pics like a lot of you bloggers out there. I will own one someday, but not anytime soon. Anyways, here's a little glimpse into my home.
Plus, you’ll love the bright orange color as it just makes you all cheery just looking at it! This huge oval dish is 16.5 inches long and 11.75 inches wide, so it’s perfect for baking a huge casserole, lasagna or it would even be great for roasting chicken or turkey! Whatever you decide to do with it, I can promise you your food will never have looked so fabulous! The height of the dish at its lowest point is 2 inches deep and at the handles it’s 4.5 inches deep!

Another great thing about this product is that it is safe to use in the dishwasher, microwave, freezer and oven safe up to 500 degrees! Plus, those funky handles really come in handy when you’re taking that bad boy out of the oven, even with bulky pot holders! What can I say…Rachael Ray, you did it again and did one hell of a job designing a great product for the kitchen that looks great on the table! They even have mini versions of this same style baker, so you can bake individual sides….they are adorable! Might have to get them next!

Anyways, my dearies...that is what is up for grabs in my giveaway! Blockbuster movies rarely spark real conversation anymore, which is what makes Inception special. You can't walk out of the theatre and say that it sucks, or that it's good. Inception deals with a man named Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) who can infiltrate the dreams of other people. The purpose for doing so is simple: Powerful men and women have powerful secrets locked away in their minds, and by slipping into a person's dreams it is possible to steal those secrets and sell them. Unsurprisingly, Cobb's talent has landed him into no uncertain amount of trouble: In the United States, where his children live, he is wanted for the murder of his wife, Mal.

A job presents itself that could clear Cobb's name, allowing him to see his kids again. Saito , a Japanese energy magnate, wants Cobb to slip into the dreams of Robert Fisher Jr., who stands to be the heir to his father's energy empire. The thing is, he doesn't want Cobb to steal anything. He wants Cobb to plant a wholly new idea in Fisher's head: That he should sell off his father's empire. This is considerably more difficult, but, given the circumstances, Cobb can't refuse.

This leads to what is basically a heist movie. Cobb, the old pro, and his trusted associate Arthur put together the kind of crew that can pull off something as complex as giving a person a new idea. Ariadne is the architect, who creates the layout of the world the dream takes place in. Eames is the forger, who can pass himself off for just about anybody the mark knows. Yusuf is the chemist, whose job is twofold. First, he must create something strong enough to put the crew and the mark to sleep for the amount of time necessary to this sort of job. Then, he must create a series of "kicks," which are cues for the crew to wake up. The second part is hardest--if you wake up before or after the kick, you're stranded in limbo, which is raw, untapped subconscious; totally empty dreamspace.

Any further summary of the plot is unnecessary. This is a heist movie, in a way, but one that plays out like a chess match on multiple boards. When one piece is moved, all the pieces on every board are effected. Gravity shifts? Avalanches? Death? It's all part of the plan.

The settings are cold, emotionless, and sterile because the crew is essentially performing brain surgery, which, obviously, is never done on a messy table. Calling the story cold, emotionless, and sterile is another thing entirely. Things go wrong almost the minute everybody slips into Fisher's dream, as he has been intensively trained for dream infiltration, and it appears that Cobb's subconscious has a rather large influence on the dreams that he enters. The way to getting Fisher to sell off his father's company lies in changing the fundamentals of the relationship between the two. The way to achieving that lies in having Cobb confront the guilt he has harbored over his wife's death. Both Cobb and Fisher appear cold, seem emotionless. One is the son of a billionaire whose last words were "disappointed." The other has turned his dreams into a mausoleum for the things he regrets; compartmentalized, hidden away, and threatening to consume him.

Inception is an absolutely brilliant exercise in filmmaking, taking the tropes and rules of the heist movie to an altogether different level. There are some points that annoy and are left open to endless questions, theories and interpretations, but they don't do so to the point of detracting from the overall experience. I would definitely give this movie a thumbs up!
Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-240179049325414282011-01-26T20:03:00.000-06:002011-01-26T20:03:45.014-06:00Spread the Word...Happy hump day my blog land friends! The Ultimate Gift is a movie version of the book by the same name written by Jim Stovall. The book has sold over 3 million copies.

This is a story of a year long quest by Jason Stevens to inherit a piece of his billionaire uncle's estate. Jason is arrogant, selfish and has had life handed to him on a silver platter for his entire life. He believes that all the best things in life can be paid for.

Following the death of his wealthy uncle Jason is late to the funeral and then heads to the lawyer's office waiting to receive his share of the billion dollar estate. Instead, what he finds, is that in order to receive his inheritance he has to complete 12 monthly assignments or gifts that will eventually lead him to "The Ultimate Gift." This 12 month journey will change his life forever as he decides which is more important: money or happiness and they are not necessarily dependent on each other. It's a journey of self-discovery.

His uncle, before he died, had recorded a video which would be shown by the lawyer to Jason each month. Each month the next part of the video would direct Jason to his next assignment. As an example, the first gift is The Gift of Work. Jason will need to go to Texas to a sprawling ranch where he will be required to do back-breaking manual labor for several weeks. He must do it to the rancher's satisfaction or the task is not considered completed.

Jason's transformation through the course of the movie is inspiring to anyone. You sometimes have to lose everything to appreciate life and the joy of giving. The actress who REALLY takes this movie to soaring heights is Abigail Breslin, the young girl from Little Miss Sunshine, Nim’s Island and many more great movies. I read that she beat out Dakota Fanning for the part.

The movie and book are somewhat different, but knowing that the two are not exactly the same doesn't detract from enjoying either film or book.

During this movie don't be surprised if you laugh and cry (guys included). In the movie, Jason's life was changed forever. Your life as well maybe changed forever after seeing this. This will be one of the most heartwarming & wonderful films you will ever see. It’s definitely one to through in the ‘ol Netflix queue…I know I’m glad I did! Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-60340997070656880742011-01-25T19:54:00.000-06:002011-01-25T19:54:07.082-06:00Product Review & Giveaway....Coming Soon!Holy cow! It's raining pigs & elephants in central Florida & tornado's everywhere. I guess I got lucky and didn't come home to any damage, but I guess there are about 5000 people without power, roofs off buildings, etc! Still storming, but I think the worst has past thank goodness. It dumped a good 3-6 inches of rain in a short amount of time. All I can say is, I'm glad it's not snow and ice...lol. That's the winter weather I was used to back in Illinois.
Got up an went to my weekly weigh-in on Saturday morning...down another 1.3lbs...Yeah! Then I picked up a few groceries at Target, came home and popped in whatever movie Netflix sent me...must not have been that good since I can't even remember what I watched and I didn't post a review for it. I did a little cleaning and when I say little...I mean little..I think did my sink full of dishes. Then come Sunday morning, I did laundry and watched a couple movies from my dvd library. I watched, "Enchanted" & "Stardust". Love both of those movies! Well, since I don't have anything of interest to post, I swiped an idea from Avitable.com and took the questionaire from his blog and answered the questions to post on my blog, as I have nothing else to post.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoy not working for two days in a stuff office, but with me in Florida & my fiance' in Ohio...the weekends are lonely and depressing! I go from sitting in a stuffy office 5 days a week to sitting couped up in my house on the weekends with nothing to do. I thought Orlando would be great and wonderful, but it's totally boring! It's too expensive to go to any of the attractions & even if I could afford it, who wants to go to an amusement park or anywhere for that matter, by themselves. BORING!

Anybody have any ideas of things to keep yourself occupied? I'm growing bored or spending my days sitting on the couch having nothing to do, but surf the internet and watch various dvd's. I'm going stir crazy....any and all ideas welcome!Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-83891235327501588102011-01-20T21:57:00.000-06:002011-01-20T21:57:28.203-06:00The Weekend Is Almost Here...YAY!!Hello my fellow blogger friends! Yeah...tomorrow is Friday! Granted it was a shortened work week with Monday off for the holiday…I’m always ready for the weekend! I say we work the weekend days and then we can have Monday thru Friday off to rest and play! Sounds good to me! I know I would welcome the free time to be able to read more, work on hobbies, travel & just have fun living instead of being cooped up in stuff ‘ol office for 8+ hours a day! What would you do with your extra time?

Any big plans for the weekend? Not much planned here. I’ll do the typical cleaning, laundry, running errands, etc. Other than that, I may rent a movie or two because I’m a movie buff at heart and love to spit out reviews for you all! I’ve also been considering doing a little redecorating, as I’m getting kind of bored with some of my furniture. What’s everyone’s take on modern furniture styles? Some stuff I don’t like so much, but I’ve seen several pieces of furniture and modern décor that I liked quite a bit. For example, the piece below kind of creeped me out.

Can you imagine this hanging on your wall? Blah...not me! Reminds me of "Thing" from "The Adams Family"...on the otherhand, when thinking of it that way it kind of makes me chuckle. LOL! Then you have pieces like this three tiered rack that caught my eye & I really like the way it looks. It would make my fruit supply look so stylish!

My favorite piece of furniture that caught my eye was this super cool looking lounge chair. I think it would look nice if you had a big covered outdoor area by a pool.

Well folks, that's all I've got for the night! Have a great Friday & an even better weekend! I know I will just for the pure fact that I now live in Florida & I'm getting to miss out on the blizzards in the midwest back home! I think I'll be sitting in the sun & making some phone calls back home to brag...lol! Later!

I've been waiting a long time to watch this movie. When I seen the previews for this movie when it came out I thought it looked really good. On top of that, I've heard the book was excellent! Well, regretably...I never read the book, but I have a feeling this is one of those books that should have never been turned into a movie. I've also heard many people that have indeed read the book say that they were horribly disappointed by the movie. Anyways, on with the review....

A 14-year-old girl is murdered by a pedophile on her way home from school," not quite the feel-good film of the year. It borrows elements from "Ghost" and "Our Town," and throws them into a colorful world of razzle-dazzle like the one in "What Dreams May Come." Set in 1973, "The Lovely Bones" follows Susie Salmon ("Atonement's" Saoirse Ronan) before and after her forced exit from the planet. She's a regular girl -- fond of taking countless photographs, embarrassed by the knitted winter hat her mom makes her wear, and smitten with a curly-haired senior whom she hopes to give her, her first kiss.

On Susie's way home to dinner, a creepy neighbor lures her into his secret chamber in the ground, in the middle of a freaking cornfield, telling her to check it out because he built it for the neighborhood kids to play in as a club house. Her life ends there. Ruth, the girl next door, has a strange connection to the deceased and can tell she is occupying the "in-between," another way to describe purgatory. Susie doesn't feel ready to move on to heaven until she can help her family track down her killer, "the solitary man who lives in the green house." Her distraught father in particular is nowhere near ready to let go.

"The Lovely Bones" is a sort of fantastical, sentimental horror movie, which left me both sad to the point of tears and deeply queasy. Susan Sarandon's comedic role helps to ease the trauma of it all, as does seeing "The Soprano's" Christopher (Michael Imperioli) on the other side of the law, playing a detective. But like a shot of wheatgrass, this film doesn't go down easy.

"The Lovely Bones" is not for the faint of heart, but there's a good chance it will make yours hurt a bit. That and you'll want to hug everyone you love for just a few extra moments. All in all, I'd give it 3 out of 5 stars. I think I'd recommend you read the book instead of watch the movie.Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-51181813201521828832011-01-18T20:39:00.000-06:002011-01-18T20:39:05.126-06:00Movie Review - Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hool

Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hool may well be the prettiest animated movie ever put to screen. This picture sometimes rivals "Avatar" in its spectacular landscapes and thrilling flying sequences.

This film is captivating & action packed! Yes, I said action. Despite what you may think, an owl fighting is totally awesome. I'm not quite sure how it works or why it works so well, but the battle sequences in Legend are pretty spectacular. Think 300, but remove the copious amounts of blood and six packs and replace them with owls. There are some action sequences in this movie that will leave your jaw on the floor not just because something cool happens, but because it looks so good as that cool thing occurs. It's should also be noted that the film's 3D is done incredibly well and while it is far from necessary to enjoy the animation it certainly doesn't hurt it at all.

Of course not everyone is OK with simply being visually stunned. Most people probably want a little story to go along with their fancy animation, and all I can really say about that is that Legend definitely has a story. The film is based on the first three books of the children's series Guardians of Ga'Hool, which takes place in a world of anthropomorphic animals, and centers around the culture of owls. A young owlet named Soren and his brother Kludd are taken from their family home by an evil owl force. Soren escapes and goes to find the Guardians who live in a mythical tree called Ga'Hoole, but Kludd chooses to stay behind and turns to evil. It's a classic storyline that neither shines nor offends, and offers up some interesting takes on hero worship and family.

It is, however, slightly dark. Legend is definitely more of an older child film than a younger kid's movie. There's never anything bloody or gruesome, but parents should be forewarned that parts of the film could be considered scary. However, for a big kid such as me it made the movie all the better and at just over 90 minutes moves fast enough to keep even the most squeamish of children entertained.Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-23192407008924050162011-01-17T16:53:00.000-06:002011-01-17T16:53:33.121-06:00Come See Me At My New Blog!Hello my blogger peeps! Long time, no see! I took a big break from blog land, but I'm back and I've started a new blog called, "Always, Wenny Muffin". I just wanted to start a new blog aside from this one since I've let it sit dormant for so long! Anyways, please come and see me at my new blog address: http://wennymuffin.blogspot.com/ Follow me and spread the word! I crave followers again and right now I have zero! My blog isn't really geared in any certain direction...it's just complete randomness & whatever comes to mind is what gets posted that day. Nothing monumental, but I know of plenty of other blogs I visit that are the same way and I always find what other people have to post about intriguing. Anyways...I need followers, so come and see me and spread the word!Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-48105160241499411442009-07-17T17:15:00.005-05:002009-07-17T17:27:11.134-05:00Meet Bubba!Holy cow it's been ages since I last posted! I've gotten really bad about keeping up my blog. Anyways, I had to at least make a post today to show off our new dog! His name is Bubba & he is one and a half years old. We got him from a nice couple out in the country who breeds dachshunds, but they had to find a new home for Bubba because his dad kept attacking him. He's such a good little guy...doesn't bark at all! Dan said the only time he heard him bark today is just the little bark he let out when I got home, but I think it startled him when I came in since he was sleeping on the couch. But I gave him a treat and took him out in the yard for a potty break and he warmed right up to me. Who knew? I had a neighbor who had bought a new pickup. I got up very early one Sunday morning and saw that someone had spray painted red all around the sides of this beige truck (for some unknown reason). I went over, woke him up, and told him the bad news. He was very upset and was trying to figure out what to do probably nothing until Monday morning, since nothing was open. Another neighbor came out and told him to get his WD-40 and clean it off. It removed the unwanted paint beautifully and did not harm his paint job that was on the truck. I'm impressed!

WD-40 who knew? 'Water Displacement #40' The product began from a search for a rust preventative solvent and degreaser to protect missile parts. WD-40 was created in 1953 by three technicians at the San Diego Rocket Chemical Company. Its name comes from the project that was to find a 'water displacement' compound.. They were successful with the fortieth formulation, thus WD-40. The Convair Company bought it in bulk to protect their atlas missile parts.

Ken East (one of the original founders) says there is nothing in WD-40 that would hurt you. When you read the 'shower door' part, try it. It's the first thing that has ever cleaned that spotty shower door.. If yours is plastic, it works just as well as glass. It's a miracle! Then try it on your stove top ... Viola! It's now shinier than it's ever been. You'll be amazed.

Here are some other uses:

1. Boy time flies! Well, last weekend one of our cars broke down across town. So since we didn't have money for a tow, we ran to Wal-mart and bought a cheap tow rope and roped it to our other car and dragged that sucker clear across town. Now that was a trip. Of course I was the one in the broke down car to steer it, but when you don't have any power you lose the brakes, so it was a game of bumper cars on the way home. Very entertaining! Luckily, we hit all green lights most of the way home, so that was a relief! Luckily, when we were doing some research online trying to figure out what was wrong with the car, we went on craigslist and found an out of work mechanic willing to do cheap labor and we also found a guy that was able to tow the car to the mechanics house for like $30! We took the car over on Wednesday night and were able to pick the car back up last night (Friday)! The guys was cheap and fixed the problem, which was a broken timing belt.

Now last night, I decided to do a load of laundry right before I went to bed. So I threw in the clothes and started the washer. In the meantime, I decided to take my daily bubblebath. Well, when I got out of the tub there was water all over the floor. I just figured maybe the toilet overflowed because I flushed it right before I got in the tub and started the water and when the water is running you can't really hear anything else. So, I thru down a couple of towels to try to soak up the water. But the water just kept coming and I was really confused. So I yelled for Dan to bring me the mop and when he brought that back to me in happened to check the washer and when he opened the door to the closed that it's in the water was gushing out of the bottom of the washer...so it was running under the wall in the bathroom...under the carpet in the hallway and even managed to run into the second bathroom on the other side, under the sink cabinet and out onto the floor. What a mess and to boot...it was 11:00 at night. So, we called maintenance who wasn't happy to have to come out. For some odd reason the on-call maintnance man lives 45 minutes away. You would think they'd have someone that lives on property as on-call maintenance.

Now things happen in three's, so sure enough...we wake up this morning and no hot water! Yep, the pilot light went out on the hot water heater! So, they just came back and reinstalled the washer and got the pilot light lit, so we should have everything fixed now! Keep your fingers crossed!

So, after all of that crap...I decided to go on a shopping spree this morning, which I never do, but Bath & Body Works is having there semi-annual sale right now and it just so happens that I finally ran out of all my stuff from past Christmas's and birthdays, so I splurged and bought $85 worth of stuff, but if I would have bought everything I did without the sale I probably would have spent a good $200+! So, I'm happy...I got a lot of good smelling stuff and I gotta have my bubble bath. Anyways, that's been my eventful week! Guess I better go try to do laundry again and hope they fixed the washer right and it doesn't explode water everywhere again! Talk to you later!

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-40851500428569124142009-05-24T17:55:00.003-05:002009-05-24T18:08:33.044-05:00Movie Marathon & Apartment ShoppingHey everyone! How's everyone's weekend going! Mine has been okay, just been bumming at home on the new couch all weekend watching movie after movie since we rented about 10 from the video store the other night. Can't pass it up when they off you half price on all movies for 2 weeks! Especially when there new releases are only $2.60 and everything else is normally .50-$1. Love Family Video!

Loving the comfy new couch! It looks a lot bigger in an living room of an apartment than when it's on the showroom floor. It's a monster, but we love it! The only other thing we've been doing over the weekend is apartment hunting. Even though our lease isn't up until middle of September we still have to give our apartment 60 days notice we are moving out. So after looking at a couple places, we actually found a complex right down the road that had crazy deals! It was had to pick which apartment we wanted because we had it narrowed down to the 2 bedroom 1 bath and the 2 bedroom 2 bath. The tricky part was you had the choice on both styles for classic or renovated. Of course the classics were way cheaper because they didn't have the new cabinets and granite counter tops. We finally decided on the biggest layout, which was 1100 square feet, 2 bedroom & 2 bath in the classic style. It has a fireplace and the biggest kitchen! We'll actually be able to get our huge kitchen table out of storage and put it in the kitchen. Plus we even have a bar area with tons of storage underneath. It also has a fireplace...yeah!! Only downside was no washer and dryer...it was $40 extra a month to get an apartment with one and we requested 1st floor, so there is a laundry room literally right ourside the door, so that's not a big deal. Anyways, so glad to get that all out of the way so early, so we weren't scrambling to find something last minute. Now we'll just have to start going through stuff and pitching stuff we don't need and donating stuff we don't use anymore to make the move easier. Heck, we'll probably even start packing up stuff we don't use. Well, that has been my weekend. I volunteered to work tomorrow since we stayed in town and it's only for 4 hours! But the extra money helps! Anyways, enjoy the rest of your weekend! Bye!

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-78235462496661505392009-05-17T19:40:00.008-05:002009-05-17T20:02:47.789-05:00Hilarious!

Long time, no see people! Keepin busy here trying to put in some overtime at work here and there when I can, so don't even want to look at the computer when I get home. Haven't been up to a whole lot latey. Enjoyed the sun that was out all day yesturday even though it was a bit chilly because of the wind, but that's Chicago for ya! We went and put our down payment on the new couch we are getting and we are going to have that delivered on Friday this week...so excited! Can't wait & it's going to be a 3 day weekend to boot, so we'll actually have somewhere comfy to sit when we have our movie marathons. I would have liked to have gone somewhere for the long weekend, but between mid-month bills and that down payment...I'm wiped out in the moo-la catergory! It goes fast!

Yesturday afternoon we headed out to Hammond, Indiana to go see the comedian Lewis Black in concert at the Horseshoe Casino. It was an awesome show! I was nearly in tears a good part of it I was laughing so hard. If you don't know who Lewis Black is...go look up some of his stand up on You Tube. If you seen the movie "Accepted" he was the one playing the part of the dean of the fake college. Anyways, he was a riot and it was so worth the drive to go see him. The drive wasn't so bad, but we did get stuck in traffic and were worried about being late but we actually got there an hour early. After the show we were walking around the casino, so we decided we'd try our luck with the one dollar bills we had on us. We had six, so I took $3 and Dan took $3...I went to one machine and it was a nickel slot and I won a couple dollars right away, but lost it all pretty quick. Then Dan walks up and shows me this voucher...he won $50...lucky duck! It was gone though as soon as we hit Chicago because we were hungry since we didn't eat before the show, so we got in Chicago around 11pm, so we stopped off at The Hard Rock Cafe since they were still open. After that, we headed home and crashed about as soon as we got home...so tired after a long day! That about sums up my weekend. Today was just a lazy day of laundry and I baked and decorated a couple dozen cupcakes and then make up a batch of chocolate chip & walnut cookies. Then I chopped up some watermelon...made some sloppy joe's. I still didn't get everything cooked I planned on today, oh well! Anyways, still got some laundry that needs folding, so I better wrap it up. Talk to y'all soon!

P.S. I got done the main thing I wanted to get done, so I took off 2 hours early. Didn't really do anything once I got home though other than watch a movie and some t.v. Today we woke up fairly early because the sun was shining so bright in our bedroom. I looked at the clock and it was only like 5:30am...you would have thought it was noon as bright as it was already. Irritating when you want to sleep in. So we just flipped on the t.v. and watched some older shows. Then Dan had to go help a friend load up his U-haul truck, so I got the kitchen cleaned up and got the laundry started while he was out. Then I got a call from the furniture store offering us a different financing option, so we ran over to the store and got approved. So when payday gets here this week, we can make a down payment and the couch will be ours! YES!!! I can't wait...it's a comfy couch! Even though we got it fully warranteed and stainguarded I already told Dan no eating on the new couch because he gets stuff everywhere. Now the trick will be trying to get the old couch out of the house and to the dumpster. It's big and heavy and just awkward to try to carry & we have to get it out before they deliver because they aren't allowed to move it...bummer! For all I care, we can go buy a chainsaw and chop up the old couch and carry it out in pieces since it's completely fallen apart anyways. It lasted a good 5 years though...can't complain. I'll include a picture of the new couch below. We were actually wanting leather and could have gotten the couch we picked in leather, but we both really liked the microfiber. I think the color is what drew us in and I would have never thought I would have bought a colored couch, but we couldn't resist!

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-58857559165906400232009-05-06T17:54:00.003-05:002009-05-06T18:11:12.262-05:00Too Cute Not to Share
Hey blogland! Not too much going on here! Wanted to try to enjoy the 85 degree weather when I got off work, but of course it was thunderstorming and downpouring by the time I got off...bummer! Haven't been up to much lately, so not really much to report. The only thing "crafty" I've managed lately is to make about 5 beta vases, but I don't put fish in mine...that's just mean! They have all really taken off in the past week or so and are all getting tons of new leaves. Not sure if it's just the time of year it is or if they just really liked getting there roots cleaned off and getting out of the cramped little pot of dirt that I bought them in. So far, I've got two at home and the other three I made at work. I've got one on my desk, made one for my best friend at work and then I made one for my boss because he wants plants in his office, but he keeps killing them, so I told him he couldn't kill this one as long as he kept the roots covered with water! Needless to say, he loved it!

My main reason for posting today is because I seen this video someone posted on my facebook page and it was just too darn cute not to share. This kid in this video is rocking out with some major dance moves...the booty smack is the best! Hope you enjoy it...I did! Sorry I haven't posted very often lately. By the time I get home from work lately I don't even want to look at a computer since that is all I stare at for 9 hours a day, 5 days a week...blah! Not a whole lot going on here...been dealing with the rainy cold weather here...bring on the warmer weather! Today was actually very nice and sunny out, so we ran around most of the day. Slept in until 9:30, which is usually unheard of! Then we got up and printed off a list of local garage sales and took off around 10 and garage saled until 2:00. Didn't really find any good deals though...only walked away with a brand new big Yankee Candle in a jar that had never been used for $2, so at least I got something out of all those garage sales. Sad thing was...I got that at the first one we stopped at. After we were done with all that we were starving since we didn't eat breakfast and have been doing the South Beach Diet all week, which is no carbs or fruit. We were so hungry though, we broke down and hit the Olive Garden...I wanted that minestrone soup so bad and it has some pasta in it, but it was so good! Then I had mushroom ravioli...I didn't eat too bad...I was going nutty not having carbs of any kind, so I figured one day & one meal wasn't going to do too much damage. I think we walked lunch off anyways because afterwards we went to some furniture stores in search of a new couch since ours is busted. We found one we love, so we are waiting till Monday to see if we got approved financing on it...it was such a good deal we couldn't pass it up, so we had them write up the deal today, so we got there today only $100 deal if we get approved, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed! After all of that, we managed to drag ourselves through 2 grocery stores...I was so happy I actually found sugar free hershey syrup....chocolate milk has been breakfast lately and it helps curb those sweet cravings on this diet! All in all, the diet hasn't been all that bad...at least I've dropped 7lbs since Monday...we'll see if the scale still shows the same loss after today. By the way, I was reading Mrs. Jelly Belly's blog today and she was talking about how awesome shampoo in the form of a bar was so I went ahead and ordered some from the site she listed because she also had a $5 off coupon listed for your first order, so I pulled up iherb.com and ordered the J.R. Liggett’s Old Fashioned Bar Shampoo. I got the one for damaged hair, natch, and the Tea Tree and Hemp Oil. $4.79 each, so I got it for free and only had to pay the $1.68 shipping and handling, so if you want to try it out or anything on there site here is the $5.00 off refferal coupon code for you to use...HUF525. Anyways, that was my day...hope you all have a great weekend! Later gators!
>

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-25372993156894668522009-04-22T17:29:00.003-05:002009-04-22T17:39:32.318-05:00Happy Earth Day!!
Hey everybody! Long time, no post! Is everyone enjoying their Earth Day? I am, now that I'm off work...such a long day! If you didn't already know about the new Disney movie "Earth" that came out today...now you know! If you go during opening week, for each ticket purchased, Disney will plant a tree in your honor...cool, huh?! I definitely want to try to make it to the movies so I can watch this...it looks so good and all of the animals are so darn adorable. I guess this movie has been 5 years in the making in order to get all the footage...now that would have been a cool job to have! Anyways, just wanted to spread the word. By the way, I just registered for my rebate to try Reynolds Wrap Foil from 100% recycled aluminum for free! Just visit: http://tinyurl.com/d2eef9. You can only get the rebate today for Earth Day, so go print off your coupon. Just got home, so I through together a quick dish of scalloped potatos to go with the huge ass spiral ham I baked last night...I'm going to be eating good in about an hour and a half! Yummo! Well, I think I'm going to through in a movie while I wait for things to cook. Talk to y'all later!

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-30784254815151736552009-04-19T10:09:00.004-05:002009-04-19T10:25:47.309-05:00Happy Birthday Dad!!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

Dan & I are at mom and dads for the weekend. Thought we'd come in for dads birthday, unfortunately we have to head back to Schaumburg today...in the rain...blah! It got too late Friday to head out, so we got up at 4am yesturday morning to head out hear and got out of the house by 5am and arrived around 9am. Stopped in Burlington first because I wanted to run out to Ritters Greenhouse to pick up something first. The greenhouse looks so awesome right now! Then we ran over to Staples to say "Hi" to my sis since she had to work from 9-5 yesturday. After she got home we all headed out to go bowling, which was alot of fun. Especially since I beat everyone in the first game. I was shocked with my score myself...I've never bowled a 151 before! Of course, my luck wore off and I sucked the last two games. Oh well, it was fun. Then we went out to Pizza Hut for some good ass pizza. If you haven't tried the stuffed crust before, I'd definitely recommend it. It was sooo good & I hadn't ever had it before! Then we came home and I crashed, partially from exhaustion from being up so early and then 3 beers helped in that too. At least I slept good which usually doesn't happen when I'm not in my own bed. All got up this morning and ate a big breakfast, so now we're just sitting around watching "The Rookie". I'm so not looking forward to driving home today...that means I have to go to work in the morning...BLAH!! Well, hope everyone had a great weekend like I did. I'll try to blog more...I've just been side tracked for the past week or so and haven't even wanted to turn on the computer by the time I get home in the evenings from work. Talk to you all later!

Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-83733521022975966732009-04-08T17:01:00.003-05:002009-04-08T17:08:45.749-05:00Long Time, No See!Hey bloggers! Long time, no post, huh? Guess it's been a while since I've got on here. Been wrapped up watching clear up to Season 3 of "Lost"..such a good show! So glad I didn't get hooked on it back when it started...it would have drove me nuts having to wait to find out what happens from week to week. I like it much better being able to watch a whole season at once. We're going to wait a little while before we rent out Season 4...I think we've had our fill of it for a while.

Not much going on here! Just getting ready for a long weekend. I took Thursday-Monday off of work, so we could go to Ohio to Dan's parents house for his birthday. Lucky me...he did all of the laundry, so I just have to fold the stuff that comes out of the dryer and then pack...woo-hoo! We're hoping to be on the road by noon or so tomorrow because we have some running around we need to do before we leave town. Anyways, that's about all for now! Have a great easter weekend everyone!Jennhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15405251015927274927noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8977784596194404141.post-69625009015960500172009-03-30T17:18:00.005-05:002009-03-30T17:28:43.016-05:00The Snow Is Gone Already!Hey everyone! Well, the snow that we got yesturday, was gone by this afternoon. Got up this morning and it was already getting close to 40, so at least that didn't stick around. It was a nice sunny day here, but I hear we are forcasted to get rain pretty much the rest of the week...blah!

Well, finished up the first season of Lost this weekend and then we ran over to the video store as soon as we were done and grabbed the 2nd season...we're hooked now! Get home and put the dvd in and it won't play, so we try a different dvd..won't play..the son of a gun died on us! Then we thought we'd try playing it in the bedroom on the playstation and....it died on us too! We knew their days were limited, but who would have thought both dvd players would go out in the same day! Lucky for me, my awesome friend at work said she has an extra she's going to give me...SWEET!

Not much else to tell...just a typical Monday! I did want to mention an awesome giveaway taking place over at Primitive Mom of Two!
